VoIP Guide Part 5 - VoIP In 5G Monitoring Tool


Here is today’s topic: How to monitor VoIP in 5g traffic and some terms that you need to know before monitoring. Let’s start!


What is a VoIP in 5G Monitoring Tool and it’s purpose?

Voip in 5G Monitoring Tool is a software that enables us to control the values of the traffic. There is no chance to make any routing or configuration by this tool. It only lets you to follow and monitor the traffic.


5G Monitoring Tool Variables

Let’s get a deeper knowledge about the variables of 5G monitoring tool and explain one by one.


In calls: It means the number of active calls at that time. Also “Total System Traffic” means the sum of all traffic, which is sent by all the customers.


On this particular screen, we can see total calls on that time sent by each customer. One of the customers sent a total of 451 real-time traffic. In other words, 451 people are talking on the phone at that time.


In Hr Attempt: The total number of the trials that were made on that particular hour.


In Hr Connect: It is the number of connected calls during trials at that time.


In Hr Minutes: It is the number of total talking minutes of the connected calls on that hour.


In ACD: The average talking time of the people who are on the phone at that hour.


In Hr ACD: The sum of the talking time of the people who talked at that hour.


Target in ACD: The part that we can write the desired ACD value of the traffic. This is very important because if the ACD rate decreases below the number that we targeted, it turns into red and warns us.


In ASR: This is the instant ASR value of the traffic.


In Hr ASR: The percentage of ASR attempts until now.


A detailed explanation of company screen

When you make a right click to the company on the list, you will see some more options about the company.


View in chart: You can see all the values of the company as a graph on this screen.


View in report: You can track the daily or hourly values of the customer.


View in CDR: It lets you to see the existing CDR rates of the traffic. You can use this filter to track the low status or traffic profile.


Reporting on 5G

You can track and report traffic with the monitoring tool. You can see the values which your customer see on their screens, also you can report the vendors values. With these reports; you arrange your traffic according to the stats. For example if one of the vendors is significantly performing worse than others, you can take action immediately.


The meaning or the terms on CDR Page on VoIP monitoring

On CDR page, without selecting a filter, you can track the CDR values of the past 10 minutes. There are some terms that you need to know before examining.


CDR Date: Show the time CDR started to decrease.


Call State: It shows the last status of the calls; they were accepted or not.


Call Duration: It’s the total talking time during calls. Call duration is only available in successful calls.


Disconnect Code: It’s the error code for a call.


Disconnect Inilator: It shows the closing side of the call. In here SRC means the caller (source) and DST is called (destination) one.


SRC Number for Routing: The number which is calling, so CLI.


DST Number for Routing: The number which is called, so CLD.


DST Area: The country that is called.


Customer: The company which sends traffic.


Vendor: The company that we send the traffic to.


Customer GW: It shows the endpoint of the company that sent the traffic.


Vendor GW: Indicates which endpoint of the company we sent the traffic to.


Customer GW IP: Shows the coming IP of the company which sends the traffic.


Vendor GW: The IP that we send the traffic.


Setup Time: Time of the incoming invite for the call.


Connect Time: If the call is connected, it shows the date.


Disconnect Time: Time of the ending for the call.
