New 5G Speed Record by Verizon with eight-carrier aggregation


It's a fact that there is a bid competence in 5G technology worldwide. Many operators launched their 5G service for a small percentage of their customers and some are preparing to launch it generally. While there are still great discussions about the 5G technology, exciting news continues to come. One of the world's biggest operator Verizon announced that they achieved to get 4.2 Gbps, which is a new 5G speed record worldwide.


This new internet speed record was achieved in the test on the live network with Samsung Electronics, Motorola Mobility, and Qualcomm Technologies, eight-carrier aggregation.


4.2 Gbps speed was achieved by Motorola's upcoming smartphone. The test combined eight separate channels of mmWave spectrum to achieve the multi-gigabit speeds. According to Verizon, this technology will be available for end-users on the 5G network in 2020.

What are the technical specs for the 5G network of Samsung?

The experiment was made by a commercial network cell site in Texas, aggregated 800 MHz of 28 GHz band spectrum using Samsung Network’s 5G NR 28 GHz access unit. This network that achieved to get the new 5G speed record, is commercially deployed by Verizon.
